The AANA Education Committee (“Committee”) is hosting a video competition to showcase exceptional skills, wellness techniques, innovation and advocacy among nurse anesthesiology residents (“Theme”). Videos must demonstrate one of the following:
- Exceptional Skill: Demonstrate a particular healthcare skill with outstanding proficiency.
- Wellness Techniques: Share effective wellness practices that promote physical, mental, or emotional health.
- Innovation: Present innovative solutions or creative ideas that address a healthcare problem or improve a process.
- Advocacy: Discuss a policy or issue that is important to you as a future CRNA.
How to Enter:
- Create an original video that demonstrates the Theme as described above.
- Submit the entry by completing the online form by April 1, 2025 at 11:59 PM CST. Applicants will be required to provide a link to their video. Please refer to the Steps for Uploading an Unlisted Video to YouTube document for more information.
- Limit of one entry per person.
Eligibility (at the time of entry):
- Eighteen (18) years or older.
- Resident Registered Nurse Anesthetist (RRNA).
- Student of an accredited nurse anesthesia program.
- Member of AANA.
Video criteria:
- Videos must be less than 3 minutes in length.
- Videos must use professional language, music and content.
- Content must be original, free of copyrighted material, and free of confidential information.
The Education Committee will review the videos and choose the following:
- Best video by one RRNA.
- Best video by a program/cohort (2 or more RRNAs from the same nurse anesthesia education program).
The winners of each category will be notified by May 5. All winners will be recognized at the AANA Annual Congress during the Resident Breakfast.
The Committee will use the following criteria to assess the videos:
- Creativity and Originality: How unique and imaginative is the submission?
- Effectiveness: How well does the video achieve its intended purpose?
- Clarity and Presentation: How clearly is the message communicated? Is the content easy to follow and understand?
- Impact: How memorable and impactful is the video? Does it leave a lasting impression on the viewer?
General Conditions:
- By entering, an entrant grants AANA the right to use their video, name, and likeness for promotional purposes without any consideration or notification to entrant.
- By participating, entrants agree to release and hold harmless AANA from any liability arising from participation in the video contest.
- No copyrighted materials (music, images, video clips, etc.) may be used for this contest unless you own the copyright or have a license to use the materials for this contest.
- Content must comply with all local and national laws, including, but not limited to, data, privacy, and criminal laws, as well as the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
- Content must not: promote illegal behavior; support racial, religious, sexual or other prejudices; advocate sexual or violent exploitation; violate rights established by law or agreement; invade the privacy of any person; or otherwise, be inappropriate as determined by AANA in its sole determination.
- This contest is governed by the laws of the State of Illinois. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Cook County, Illinois.
- Information collected from entrants is subject to AANA’s Privacy Policy.
