The Program Administrator’s Outstanding Resident Scholarly Project Award, established in 2016, is presented to a senior nurse anesthesia resident from a nurse anesthesia program. The Award recognizes the resident’s scholarly impactful work through evidence-based projects that advance anesthesia care. The AANA Foundation sponsors the Program Administrator’s Outstanding Resident Scholarly Project Award.
Please note: The AANA Foundation acknowledges the Program Administrator’s Outstanding Resident Scholarly Project Award recipient. However, the recipient is supported by the Program Administrator.
The Program Administrator’s Outstanding Resident Scholarly Project Award is a certificate with the recipient’s name and year of presentation. The recipient’s name is also added to a list of recipients in the AANA Foundation Annual Report in the fiscal year of the award.
The nominee(s) must be a senior resident nurse anesthetist(s) eligible to graduate who is recognized for his/her outstanding skills and has completed an impactful project that includes a clear critique and analysis with specific recommendations for changing practice. The applicant must be an AANA associate member and currently enrolled in an accredited nurse anesthesia education program.
Complete the enclosed nomination form and include a one-page abstract of the resident’s completed evidence-based project. Pilot studies, not proposals, are acceptable. Please indicate whether the project is being prepared as a manuscript for submission, or has been submitted and is under review.
Each program nominates one senior evidence-based project per calendar year prior to graduation.
The nomination from the program administrator is forwarded to the AANA Foundation. The AANA Foundation Board of Trustees determines recipients of the award.
The Program Administrator will be notified of the award status and a certificate will be mailed to the Program Administrator for presentation.
All completed applications must be received at least two months prior to the resident’s graduation to allow time for processing. Notification of the recipient of the award will be made as soon as possible. Only one award will be granted to each program in a calendar year.
