In Memoriam: Charles “Chuck” Allen (1944-2023)

We mourn the passing of Charles “Chuck” Allen, at the age of 79. He was born in 1944 in East Liverpool, Ohio.After graduating from high school, he joined the Air Force. He spent that time in Greece as a medic. When the four years were up, Chuck moved to Savannah, Georgia and started nursing school. He then moved to Charleston, South Carolina to finish his education and fulfill his desire to become a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist.He moved back to Savannah to begin that work. He has worked various other places, moving up each time: Statesboro, Swainsboro, Reidsville, and freelancing at several locations around Georgia. He retired in 2013 after 41 years. He missed his job, loved his patients and every place he worked, but his health became an issue.He is preceded by his mother, Norma Ann Allen Beadle, and father Dudley; stepfather Rinehart Fick, and son Clayton. He is survived by his wife, Penny; daughter Amy; son Travis (Katie); daughter-in-law Allyson; two brothers, Dean and Jan (Bette) and grandchildren Isaiah, Carter, Callie, Trey, Trent, Carson, Aaliyah and Haley Kate.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
