Barry Simmons, 85, passed away August 29, 2024, at the Hospice House in Bellingham, Washington, with his family and close friend by his side.
Barry was born May 11, 1939, in Norvelt, Pennsylvania to parents Frank and Nelle Simmons. Barry was preceded in death by his parents and brothers William and Jon Simmons. He is survived by his sister Catherine Simmons Miron (Bellingham, Washington), brother-in-law Tom, niece Stephanie Michael (Bellingham, Washington), and great-nephew Kevin Michael Thomas Empson and his wife, Sarah Ann Empson.
His chosen field was in medicine as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist working in Pittsburgh and San Francisco, as well as many areas of Washington State. He loved and composed classical piano, and was an amazing cook and baker for his family and friends. Cherry pie was his speciality. He loved photography and had a show in San Fransisco.
He will be greatly missed, and the memories he gave us will be remembered fondly by family and friends alike.
