CRNA Sonya Moore Named Notable Leader in Healthcare for 2024

Sonya MooreSonya Moore, DNP, RN, CRNA, FAAN, FAANA, program director and assistant professor in the Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing at Case Western Reserve University, has been named one of the Notable Leaders in Healthcare for 2024 by Crain’s Cleveland Business. 

According to Crain’s, the honorees “continue to innovate and educate, not just keeping Cleveland at the center of the healthcare universe but at the forefront of keeping the public healthy.” 

In addition to her role as program director and assistant professor at the nurse anesthesiology program at Case Western, she’s also the founder and director of the nursing school’s Leadership Excel and Achievement Program (LEAP). The LEAP program encourages underrepresented minority students to join the field of nurse anesthesiology. 

AANA has been a supporter and sponsor of LEAP from its inception in 2021. The first LEAP cohort will graduate from nurse anesthesiology programs next year and will be recognized during the AANA 2025 Mid-Year Assembly. 

Moore is a Fellow of the American Association of Nurse Anesthesiology (AANA) and a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing. She’s also a former member of AANA’s Board of Directors, having served 2019-2021.
